Dr. Yselonia attended the University of Georgia (UGA) where he was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences followed by a Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine. During his undergraduate education, Dr. Yselonia was a member of the UGA baseball team where he served as the team captain. He also earned MVP honors, as well as the Most Competitive Award, and the Scholar-Athlete Award. Dr. Yselonia was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1993 and played baseball in the minor leagues.
Dr. Yselonia interned at North Florida Veterinary Specialists in Orange Park where he learned from world-renowned surgeon Rob Goring, DVM. He also interned at he West Ashley Veterinary Hospital in Charleston, SC.
Upon graduation from veterinary school in 2000, Dr. Yselonia joined Dr. Searcy at Antigua Veterinary Practice. Dr. Yselonia enjoys the challenge of veterinary medicine. He takes pride in staying on the cutting edge with continuing education. His special interests include internal medicine, surgery, and dermatology. Dr. Yselonia was also a founding partner of the St. Augustine Regional Veterinary Emergency Center.
Dr. Yselonia met his wife Kim at the University of Georgia and they have been married since 1996. They have two children, Blake and Kaylee. His pets include his dog Chewy (Yorkie) and his two cats (Tripi and Willow). Dr. Yselonia’s outside interests include golf, coaching, watching sports and giving back to the community. He has volunteered with the St. Augustine Little League, St. Johns County Police Athletic League, Ancient City Pirates, and St. Augustine High School Baseball Boosters amongst others.
Eric Searcy, DVM, was born in Deland, Florida and raised in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The third of six children, caring for the family’s dogs and riding his uncle’s horse helped him realize his love of animals, leading him into his career.
After graduating from Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1977, he moved to St. Augustine where he founded Antigua Veterinary Practice in 1979. Dr. Searcy has served on various veterinary boards in the St. Augustine community. In addition, he was a founding partner of the St. Augustine Regional Veterinary Emergency Center. Dr. Searcy is also a veterinarian on the Georgia Aquarium’s marine mammal stranding response team.
Dr. Searcy is married to the former Debra Alexander. They raised three beautiful children, Alex, Matt and Andrea.
Dr. Searcy’s outside interests include surfing, fishing and playing music on his
banjo and dobro with “The Driftwoods”.
Cynthia is a native of St. Augustine and a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy. She has been a member of our team since 2010. Cynthia is a also a Registered Radiology Technician. From a young age, Cynthia has had a great love of animals. As a child, she would volunteer to walk her neighbor’s dogs and has worked and lived on a farm. She has ridden horses for years, both for pleasure and competition. Cynthia is a skilled veterinary assistant/technician and a client service specialist. Cynthia is a vital piece in the smooth operation of the hospital. She also helps manage the hospital. In her spare time, Cynthia enjoys traveling and hiking. She currently has a dog, Lulu (Yellow Labrador).
Jeanie was born and raised in St. Augustine. She is a St. Augustine High School graduate. She comes from a long line of Menorcans, whose history can be traced back to 1768 here in St. Augustine. Jeanie became a member of our team while attending St. Johns River State College in 1987. Jeanie is a highly skilled veterinary technician/assistant. She is a team leader. She has experience with all areas of the hospital. Jeanie has also accepted the role as a mentor/trainer to our new employees. She has a way of putting clients at ease when she is in the room. Jeanie has been married for 25 years to her husband Jim and they have two beautiful daughters, Jamie and Jennifer. Jamie shares Jeanie’s love of animals and it was natural for her to join the team in 2016. Jennifer is currently a senior at Mantanzas High School and is also duel enrolled at Daytona State College. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, going to the beach and spending time with her family.
Leslie is a St. Augustine native. She grew up in downtown St. Augustine and is very proud of her Menorcan heritage. After graduating from St. Joseph’s Academy, Leslie attended Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, GA. Leslie is a client care specialist who has been a member of our team since 2009. She greets our patients and clients by name and always has a friendly smile. She makes sure every one of your pet’s needs are met and always exceeds client’s expectations. Leslie is married to Kipling J. Case. She has two wonderful sons, Richard and Justin. She currently has two dogs, Lightning and Tinkerbell, and one cat, Axel Freeloader. Leslie has been a longtime member of the Poinsettia Garden Club as well as the St. Augustine Easter Festival.
Justin was born in Bayshore, NY, but has lived in St. Augustine since he was 4 years old. Justin is a St. Augustine High School graduate. He has been a member of our team since 2005. He is a skilled veterinary assistant/technician where he enjoys forming lasting relationships with our clients and their pets. Animals response well to his light-hearted, nurturing approach. His love of animals shows through on a daily basis and is the reason many clients ask for him by name. Justin has 2 sons, Gavin and Landon. He enjoys surfing, fishing and camping. Justin is a huge sports fan, in particular the New York Giants and New York Mets. He currently has 3 American Staffordshire Terriers, Goose, Henry and Miss Beef.
Jamie was born and raised in St. Augustine and is a graduate of Matanzas High School. During high school, Jamie was selected to study abroad in China. She has been a member of our team since 2016. Jamie is a talented client care specialist and veterinary assistant. For as long as she can remember, Jamie has had a love for all animals. She enjoys pampering our clients and their pets. She is very skilled at reading animal behavior and sensing their needs. She pays great attention to detail to ensure all patients and boarding animals are clean and comfortable. Her positive attitude is infectious. In her spare time, Jamie enjoys playing racquetball, nature walks and spending time at the beach. Her fur family includes Darla (blue-ticked coonhound) and 2 bunnies (Bigo & Romeo).
Genny is a native of St. Augustine and has been in the veterinary field for over 6 years. She has a lifelong passion for helping animals and hopes to attend veterinary school in the future. She currently attends Valdosta State University. Genny enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of animals and their owners. Genny is a skilled veterinary assistant /technician and client service specialist. In her spare time, Genny enjoys anything outdoors. Members of her fur family include Oakley (German Shorthaired Pointer), Grayson (Poodle), London (English Springer Spaniel) and Regan (Australian Shepard), as well as a goat named Penelope. Genny loves the beautiful chaos of a household full of pets.
